The founder of sister business, Moss Acres, the nation's leading supplier of live moss, Al is a serial entrepreneur with a proven track record of successful start-ups in the green industry. Al has started more than 10 businesses. His largest was Benner's Deer Fencing.
His most recent, Powerful Plants, is a healthy lifestyle brand for children that was sold to Burpee Seeds in early 2018. As someone who is very sensitive to air quality, the Verdure project has special meaning for him.
Jim Fucetola - Chief of Operations
Jim is a successful entrepreneur in his own right and simply makes things happen with his contagious positive/can-do attitude. Jim is the brainchild behind the self-contained "Verdure" Wellness Wall concept.
David Benner - Retired Professor of Ornamental Horticulture/Moss Guru
Dave Benner began gardening with moss in lieu of grass at his woodland garden in New Hope, PA, back in the early 1960s. Since then he has converted his entire 2-acre woodland into a lush, cool green oasis by growing moss with wildflowers and evergreen groundcovers on a terraced hillside with meandering paths.
This spectacular garden bursts into color in early May when the wildflowers peak and remains a vibrant green the balance of the year due to the vast array of mosses and other evergreen groundcovers that are also growing on the hillside. The Benner garden has been featured in over 25 books and magazines through the years. Sadly Dave is no longer able to conduct tours of his garden as he did for over forty years in early My each spring.
